We, the Board of Directors of MrJ Ministries, have a very special announcement to make:
In the summer of 2026, Kurt Johnson, a.k.a. MrJ, will finish 50 years in this crazy, creative and Christ-centered ministry. But we are not quietly "putting this ministry to bed." We want to help Kurt finish well. So... during the next five years, The MrJ Band will perform the five MrJ Band themes, one per year through 2026. We are asking you to join us as we propel MrJ, and the band, through a five year ministry campaign which we are calling: ”Finish Well—the Final Five." |

Our Mission

We have a two-pronged mission:
1. PROCLAIM Christ 2. GROW artists to proclaim Christ with passion & creativity! Here's how we do that: WE PROCLAIM CHRIST—The MrJ Band is a theater troupe aimed at young children and their families with rockin’ music, contagious teaching, zany games, and Christ-centered heart-change all in one package! Kids are on the edge of their seats when we get them into the Bible. (Actually, it's more likely they will be jumpin' out of their seats!) Words cannot describe how engaged, active, and focused children are at a MrJ event. When it’s time to jump, they jump. When it’s time to sing, they shout. And when it’s time to catch a glimpse of God’s truth? They see it in letters 10 feet tall! THIS IS WHAT WE DO! We capture children's imaginations and inspire them to give their hearts to the King-Most-High!!! |

WE GROW ARTISTS TO PROCLAIM CHRIST—Not only does this cast proclaim the incredible love of Christ to children and their families, BUT these high school and college students are mentored and discipled in using creative music & theater to reach kids of the 21st century. Since 1976, hundreds of cast members have taken the skills they've learned on tour into full-time ministry today! Even now, we have still more artists rising up through our ranks to PROCLAIM CHRIST.
Our Mission Statement is born out of Paul’s words: "I PROCLAIM CHRIST. It’s what I do with all my heart. I encourage everyone I meet and teach anyone I can with all the best God has given me, So that every man, woman and CHILD can grow closer to Jesus." Colossians 1:28-29 |

For Such A Time As This...
We point clearly to the the King Most High! This is the call on our lives.
CHILDREN NEED THE GOOD NEWS--These are times when children and their families need to hear the Good News of hope. The world they live in is shouting messages of fear from every direction. The MrJ Band proclaims Jesus boldly and with such joy that the entire crowd jumps in before the first song is done.
CHILDREN & THEIR FAMILIES NEED TO LEARN HOW TO BE IN THE WORD--a key message The MrJ Band brings to every group is that kids and their families CAN get into the Word and hear straight from the God who delights in them! And they do! With MrJ's help, every audience member reads Scripture, writes down Scripture, prays about that Scripture and then shares it with their family and friends.
THE CHURCH NEEDS TO RAISE UP YOUNG AND NEW VOICES TO PROCLAIM GOD’S GRACE—MrJ doesn't work alone. To each event he brings a dozen or more young artists who are learning and practicing how to bring the Good News of Jesus in growing creativity and excellence.
